Since we have all talked about starting a 6M net using the GI repeater, I thought I would start a thread on setting up a decent antenna to get into the repeater.

So I will go out and find some plans for home brew antennas and some links to commercial antennas.

If anyone else has some good antennas or ideas, here is the place to share them.

Ok, below are some links to 6m antennas that I found:

There are a lot of other designs out there.  I tried to find some that where verticals so they would work better with the repeater.

I found the following links for making a ladder line J-Pole:

I think I might throw one together this weekend.

FYI, I ordered a Jetsteam JTB4.  I still plan to make one of the ladder line J-poles and will post my results, but the JTB4 looked like it would work really well in my instance.

I purchased an Arrow 6M ground plane and installed it in my attic. Now all I have to do is figure out how to set up my IC 7000 to operate on the 6M repeater. The instructions might as well be in Greek.

I've had an antenna up and a radio on the GI 6M repeater for at least a couple of years, and have yet to hear anyone use it.
If any of you would like to try it out, TEXT me @ (308) 627 6550
