1  General Category / General Discussion / York Repeater on: May 08, 2010, 01:07:52 PM
Coming back from Lincoln sat. I talked to a Lincoln ham, and he informed me about York's system being back up! So I made a call and talked to Martin, ac0om from York. When I got home I was able to get into the York repeater from my base with 55 watts. They have a 2 m net on sunday eve.s at 9:00 pm. While I was on the interstate he was able to hit 145.130 with me from his base in York. The frequency is 147.270 with standard offset, no tone.

Loren at Emergency Managment gave me the safety vests that were ordered. If you ordered one let me know if you want to pick it up or I will bring them to the next club meeting. Ron Y. kd0hch
3  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Will you participate in sever weather spotting this year? on: March 20, 2010, 06:42:33 PM
I really look forward to participating in severe weather situations this season. My volunteering will be at the NWS, operating vhf, uhf, IRLP as needed. Coordinating, relaying and confirming weather information back to interested parties including Emergency Managment in needed counties. Getting equipped, and set up with new and solid repeaters, IRLP etc is exciting and should harmonize quite well with allready well run, existing systyms, such as the National Weather Service in Hastings, Adams county Emergency Managment, and many surrounding counties and communities. My personal thanks to those who have been working hard for quite a few months in putting things together where local ham radio operators can assist in a first class way! If it must rain, thunder, lightning, hail or tornado, then so be it. I believe we will be in position to make a difference with any local or even state emergency. Thanks - see ya this spring!

We are getting ready to go up to Estes in march, so I was checking out the local clubs web site to see where they have breakfast, and ran across this video they put out. Ya gotta love "the bucket"! Go to EVARC (Estes Valley Amateuar radio) and go to the link Doug N6UA has, and enjoy!
