| I got interested in ham radio because: |
Having been bitten by the bug while living in Cincinnati in the early 80's, I never got over it. Pulling those voices out of the ether is pure excitement for me. |

I have spent my professional career as a field engineer maintaining and teaching others to maintain the large mainframe computer systems. Experienced as a course developer and teacher of electronics in government, commercial and academic environments. |

I am an HF sort, preferring to chat my time away on 40 and 20 meters. |
| My equipment consists of: |
I have recently upgraded to my own dream radio, a "Flex-Radio 3000 Software Defined Radio" and am usually barefoot at 100 watts. If the going gets tough, there is an Ameritron 811, 4 tube amp to push it. For VHF/UHF, I use a Yaesu FT-7800. I have also been found in my backyard with my FT60 HT and a hand held antenna working the ISS. |

I am working on a major, personal project in training, something called "The Amateur Radio eLearning Initiative", and will publish it within the next year. |
